Dr. Myo Oo

Research Associate and Lecturer

Dr. Myo Oo joined CamTech University in 2023 as a Research Associate and Lecturer. He holds an M.A. degree in History from Yangon University in Myanmar, as well as an additional M.A. degree and a Ph.D. degree in Language and Society from Hitotsubashi University in Japan. Prior to joining CamTech University, Dr. Oo served as an Assistant Director at the Department of Historical Research in Myanmar.  He also worked as a Research Professor at the Institute for Southeast Asian Studies at Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS) in South Korea. He taught at the School of Southeast Asia at BUFS as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Oo’s research interests primarily lie in the field of Southeast Asian history, culture, and society. He has contributed to numerous research articles in research journals and peer-reviewed publications across Asia. Moreover, he has undertaken the translation of three volumes of a unique Burmese diary that provide insights into the socio-economic condition of the early colonial period in the 19th-century.
