Professor Alamgir Hossain, Vice President & Professor of Artificial Intelligence, contributed the following points to the Seminar on “Diplomacy in Cyberspace: Thriving through geopolitical storms,” organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held on 24th August 2022:
-He indicated that everything connected to the Internet is hackable. Almost 90% of problems are due to human errors/behaviors.
– When we buy equipment from many countries to develop infrastructure (for example, energy), there are different IoT security issues. Therefore, the selection of country and security issues of IoTs should be part of the policy.
– The AI-powered attack is dangerous, so we must develop an AI-powered protection scheme. It requires collaborative multi-disciplinary teamwork.
– The DDoS attack is serious for e-commerce companies, particularly small companies in developing countries. Policy and practices to handle these are essential.
