China Studies Center
China is currently the second largest economy in the world in term of total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Its rapid technological advancement and socio-economic development have significantly influenced regional economic growth and international trade and forever changed the geopolitics of Southeast Asia as well as global diplomatic affairs. In Cambodia, China has also funded multi-million-dollar infrastructure construction projects and is one of the country’s top foreign direct investors. However, Cambodia and China still lack a platform for academic collaboration and dialogue.
Drawing on experienced in-house staffs and a network of visiting fellows and professors, the China Studies Center provides rigorous research evidence and sound policy recommendations on Sino-Khmer cultural, economic, and political affairs and relation.
Furthermore, it offers a platform for universities and think-tanks in both countries to cooperate, exchange ideas, and enhance people-to-people connectivity. CSC’s research themes cover the following areas:
- Sino-Cambodian economic and political relation
- China, South Korea and Japan relation
- China’s Belt and Road Initiative
- Chinese growth miracle and development policy
- Chinese foreign direct investment and global trade
- Confucianism and the East Asian society
- Language teaching research (Chinese)
