CamTech University Strengthens Cambodia's Research and Innovation Ecosystem through Cambodia Research Network

CamTech University has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Cambodia’s research capability and innovation ecosystem by becoming a founding member of the Cambodia Research Network (CRN), a national consortium that brings together 31 leading research-oriented universities and research institutions to strengthen evidence-based research, policy engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The University’s participation reflects its long-term strategy to cultivate a vibrant research culture, develop the next generation of researchers and innovators, and translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions that address Cambodia’s development priorities. As Cambodia’s leading technology-focused university, CamTech views research not only as an academic pursuit but also as a driver of innovation, industry collaboration, and national competitiveness.

The Cambodia Research Network was formally launched on 22 July 2026 through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (EcoSoc) under the Office of the Council of Ministers and 31 research-oriented universities and research institutions. The signing ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Vongsey Vissoth, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers.

During the ceremony, His Excellency underscored the profound impact of global megatrends and artificial intelligence on Cambodia’s future, stressing that evidence-based research is essential for building national resilience, informing public policy, and supporting the implementation of the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy. He described the Cambodia Research Network as the beginning of a new chapter in mobilising Cambodia’s intellectual community to contribute to national development.

CamTech has invested strategically in building research capacity through the establishment of its international graduate programme in Science, Technology and Innovation. The University also hosts the Comparative Education Society of Cambodia (CESCam), the Centre for Buddhist AI Ethics, the China–ASEAN Studies Centre, and the AI Forum, which foster interdisciplinary research and dialogue on emerging issues of national, regional, and global significance.

Complementing these initiatives, CamTech University Press promotes the dissemination of scholarly research and facilitates knowledge exchange among academics, industry, policymakers, and international partners. Together, these initiatives strengthen Cambodia’s research capability while advancing applied research, technological innovation, and evidence-based solutions.

Through its participation in the Cambodia Research Network, CamTech University looks forward to expanding research collaboration with government, academia, industry, and international partners, contributing expertise that accelerates innovation and supports Cambodia’s sustainable socio-economic development.
